Senior Associate - Commercial Property
London | £80,000 to £95,000

A growing London law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Senior Associate to join its expanding real estate team.

Following a recent merger, the firm has strengthened its position in the London market and continues to invest in its commercial property practice. The team is ranked in Tier 3 of The Legal 500 for Commercial Property: Corporate Occupiers, alongside a wider real estate offering recognised for property finance and property litigation.

The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of investment, development and occupational property matters. You will act for UK and international property companies, investors, developers, owner-managed businesses, corporate occupiers and private clients.

Working closely with the partners, you will take the lead on your own matters and client relationships while playing an important role in the continued development of the department.

Your work will include:
  • Commercial property acquisitions and disposals
  • Investment and development transactions
  • Landlord and tenant matters
  • Commercial leases, agreements for lease and licences
  • Portfolio and asset management
  • Property finance and refinancing transactions
  • Development site acquisitions and disposals
  • Conditional contracts, option agreements and overage arrangements
  • Property support on corporate transactions
  • Advising corporate occupiers on their operational property requirements

The position provides considerable autonomy and direct client contact. You will also supervise and support more junior lawyers, collaborate with the firm's corporate, finance and dispute resolution teams and contribute to business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in commercial property at Senior Associate level or readiness to progress into that position
  • A strong technical background across investment, development and landlord and tenant work
  • Experience managing transactions and client relationships independently
  • The confidence to lead matters while recognising when partner input is required
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and project-management skills
  • A pragmatic, commercially focused and solutions-led approach
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
  • An interest in developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
  • The ability to work collaboratively across different practice areas
  • A commitment to delivering responsive and commercially relevant advice

This opportunity would particularly suit an ambitious commercial property lawyer seeking greater responsibility, a clear role in the growth of a recognised practice and the opportunity to develop towards partnership.

The firm offers:
  • A salary of £80,000 to £95,000, depending on experience
  • High-quality commercial property work for a varied UK and international client base
  • A growing and Legal 500-ranked real estate practice
  • Direct client contact and significant responsibility
  • Opportunities to supervise and develop junior colleagues
  • Support for business development and profile building
  • Genuine scope for further career progression
  • A collaborative working environment within a full-service London firm
