An established law firm with offices in London and Manchester is seeking an experienced residential property lawyer or Licenced Conveyancer to lead its London team.
This opportunity would particularly suit a Senior Associate / Senior Conveyancer ready to take on departmental responsibility and work towards Partnership. The equivalent Head in Manchester joined at Senior Associate level and progressed to salaried Partnership in approximately 18 months, providing a strong precedent for career progression.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take responsibility for the London residential property team, combining a hands-on caseload with team leadership, client relationship management and business development.
The team predominantly acts for overseas investors purchasing new-build properties. The firm is a recommended purchaser's law firm on numerous developments, providing established sources of instructions and opportunities to develop relationships across the property sector.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the London residential property team, overseeing day-to-day workloads, service standards and performance.
- Manage a caseload focused on new-build purchases for overseas investors.
- Supervise and support colleagues, providing technical guidance and helping develop their skills.
- Oversee transactions from instruction through to completion, maintaining clear communication with clients and other parties.
- Maintain and develop relationships with developers, agents and existing introducers.
- Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the London practice.
- Work closely with the CEO and the Heads in Manchester and Hong Kong.
About you
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial residential conveyancing experience and strong, hands-on experience of new-build purchases.
You will also bring:
- Previous experience supervising or managing colleagues; experience leading a small team is sufficient.
- The technical confidence to oversee transactions and support others with more complex matters.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and a client-focused approach, particularly when advising overseas purchasers.
- An interest in business development and building lasting professional relationships.
- The ambition to take ownership of a team and progress towards partnership.
