The Firm
An established and growing Legal 500-recognised commercial law firm is seeking an ambitious Secured Lending Solicitor to join its highly regarded Property Finance team.

The firm acts for banks, specialist lenders, bridging finance providers and commercial clients on a broad range of property-backed finance transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and successful practice offering high-quality work, direct client contact and genuine scope for career progression.

The Role
You will principally act for lenders on secured lending and property finance transactions, including matters involving single representation. Your work will include:
  • Acting for banks, specialist lenders and short-term finance providers.
  • Advising on bridging, development and general property finance transactions.
  • Preparing, reviewing and negotiating loan and security documentation.
  • Advising on third-party mortgages, deeds of priority and associated security arrangements.
  • Reviewing title documentation, legal packs and reports on title efficiently and accurately.
  • Liaising with borrowers' solicitors and other professional advisers.
  • Advising on title insurance and other risk-mitigation solutions.
  • Managing transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Developing strong relationships with lender clients and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Approximately 3-4 years' PQE gained in private practice, although candidates outside this range will be considered where they have suitable experience.
  • Proven experience acting for lenders on secured lending transactions.
  • Experience of bridging finance and other property-backed lending matters.
  • A sound understanding of both commercial and residential property.
  • The ability to prepare and review finance and security documentation.
  • Strong technical, organisational and commercial skills.
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively to demanding timescales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
  • An interest in business development and building long-term client relationships.

Experience of title insurance matters would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Opportunity
The firm offers:
  • High-quality and varied lender-side property finance work.
  • Exposure to banks, specialist lenders and bridging finance providers.
  • Direct client contact and responsibility.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Hybrid working, with two days per week in the office.
  • Genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
