The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Residential Property Associate to join a highly regarded team handling prime and super-prime residential property transactions across London and regional England.
You will work predominantly with two Partners, alongside experienced Associates and dedicated paralegal support.
The role offers direct client contact, substantial responsibility and exposure to complex, high-value transactions.
Typical matters include new-build properties valued at up to £3 million and prime residential transactions commonly ranging from £5 million to £20 million.
The Role
Your work will include:
- Acquisitions and disposals of high-value freehold and leasehold residential property.
- Off-plan and new-build purchases.
- Residential property finance and refinancing.
- Acting for borrowers and private banks on secured lending transactions.
- Conventional and Sharia-compliant property finance structures.
- Residential lettings and tenancy matters.
- Licences to assign, underlet and alter.
- Deeds of variation and other leasehold documentation.
- Investigating complex titles and preparing reports on title.
- Drafting and negotiating transactional documents.
- Managing SDLT submissions, registrations and post-completion requirements.
You will take ownership of your own files and manage a busy caseload of time-sensitive transactions with appropriate Partner support.
About You
You will ideally:
- Be a qualified Solicitor with between 1 and 4 years' PQE in residential property.
- Have experience handling high-value freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
- Be familiar with mortgages, refinancing and off-plan new-build transactions.
- Have experience of residential leasehold matters and complex title structures.
- Be comfortable managing multiple active transactions and competing deadlines.
- Have strong drafting, communication and client-management skills.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and commercial judgement.
- Be proactive, organised and able to use your initiative.
- Work collaboratively and support colleagues during busy periods.
- Have gained experience within a respected London or regional property practice.
Experience acting for Islamic banks or advising on Sharia-compliant property finance would be advantageous but is not essential.
