The Firm
An established Legal 500-recognised and ranked London law firm is seeking a Property Litigation Solicitor to join its specialist Real Estate Disputes team.
The team acts for commercial and residential landlords and tenants, developers, investors, lenders, managing agents and private property owners. It advises on disputes ranging from strategically important landlord and tenant matters to complex, high-value court and tribunal proceedings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong solicitor to join a supportive and highly experienced team, take responsibility for substantial matters and continue developing their property litigation career.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload while working alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers on more complex matters. The work is expected to include:
- Commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes.
- Possession, forfeiture and rent arrears proceedings.
- Breaches of lease and covenant.
- Dilapidations and service charge disputes.
- Break notices and lease renewal disputes.
- Rights of way, easements and restrictive covenants.
- Boundary, title and ownership disputes.
- Development and property-related contractual disputes.
- Contentious leasehold and enfranchisement matters.
- Mediation, negotiation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
- Court and tribunal proceedings, including multi-track litigation.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
- Approximately four years' PQE in property litigation, although candidates with slightly more or less experience will be considered.
- Strong experience of running multi-track litigation.
- Experience managing property disputes from initial instruction through to settlement, trial or final determination.
- A sound understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation strategy.
- Experience across commercial or residential property disputes, ideally with exposure to both.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- The confidence to manage client relationships and provide clear, commercially focused advice.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative approach.
- An interest in business development and building professional relationships.
