Commercial Property Associate - Top 100 Law Firm
London
PQE2-5

A leading Top 100 UK law firm is seeking a Commercial Property Associate to join its highly regarded London real estate team. The firm is ranked in Band 3 by Chambers UK for London Real Estate: £50-150 million and Tier 4 by The Legal 500 for both Commercial Property: Investment and Commercial Property: Development. The team acts for an impressive client base that includes major London estates, property companies, private investors, developers, family offices, financial institutions and occupiers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Associate to gain exposure to a broad range of high-quality commercial property work within a collaborative and supportive team.

The role will include:
  • Managing a range of commercial landlord and tenant matters
  • Advising on managed office and asset management work
  • Supporting Partners on investment acquisitions and disposals
  • Assisting with real estate finance transactions and larger development projects
  • Undertaking title reviews, due diligence and reporting on substantial transactions
  • Running smaller transactions with a high degree of autonomy
  • Working closely with key clients, including those with significant multi-property portfolios
  • Supporting business development initiatives and beginning to build your own professional network

There may also be opportunities to advise urban and rural landed estates on commercial leasing, change of use, development obligations, mixed-use schemes, high-value residential transactions and enfranchisement matters. Previous experience in this area is not essential, provided you have an interest in developing it.

The successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Approximately two years' PQE in commercial property
  • Substantial commercial landlord and tenant experience
  • Training and post-qualification experience gained with a reputable London or regional firm
  • Strong technical, drafting and transaction-management skills
  • Experience of supporting larger real estate projects
  • Some exposure to investment acquisitions, disposals or property finance, although this is not essential
  • The ability to manage multiple matters and meet demanding deadlines
  • A commercial, analytical and proactive approach
  • Confidence when working with high-profile and highly valued clients
  • A collaborative and team-focused working style

The firm offers excellent-quality work, direct client contact and a supportive environment in which Associates can develop their technical expertise, professional network and longer-term career.
